My baby boy is 18 months old, it doesn’t seem possible that he’s already a year and a half. The time has flown by with him.
He’s talking so much and seems to have new words every day. He’s still speaking more Italian than English but he’s adding more English words into his vocabulary and is also saying the word in both languages:
- Wawa (aqua) and water
- “tity” for Felicity
- Basta (Italian for “stop” or “enough”)
- Gelato (why is this always a first word of my kids? 😛 )
- Gatto (Italian for cat but he says it for all animals)
- Bow-bow (Woof in Italian)
- “Dai!” (Italian expression for “really” “just do it” “stop”…its hard to translate!)
He’s not quite the adventurous eater he once was. He’s gone into a picky toddler phase, the same as Felicity has. Favorite foods at the moment are goldfish, ice cream, popsicles, cheese, hot dogs, sausages, pasta, french fries, yogurt, and grilled cheese sandwiches. I try to sneak in veggies as best as I can. He loves fruit so that’s not a problem. For the moment, I usually have to make him and Felicity a separate meal from us, which works out for us in the end. Maybe it’ll change as they get older.
Sleeping has been going well. Raffi has always been a good sleeper. He takes one 1.5-2 hour nap in the afternoon and sleeps around 12 hours a night. He goes to bed around 9 at night and wakes up around 9 am. He usually takes his nap around 2pm until 3:30 or 4 in the afternoon.
He is very busy, always playing, climbing on things, running, playing on his cars. He’s much more physical than a child that sits and plays with an object. He likes to construct with legos or building blocks too. He doesn’t like TV or tablets and has very little interest in watching them or playing with the tablet. He loves books and it is always a good way to calm them down before dinner or bed.
He’s still a momma’s boy. He’s very attached to me and wants to be with me all day. He likes to play with his sister and other children too but still searches for me after a short time. He’s very different than his sister in this way, she was never a momma’s girl and always waned to play with other children for long periods of time (she is still this way).
