We have been so busy these past couple of weeks with visitors in town, I’ve barely had a chance to sit down and write this blog!
The big reason we’ve had visitors is because last Sunday we had Raffaello’s baptism. It was beautiful, surprisingly not too hot day (still probably 85, but that’s easier to deal with than 95). His baptism was after the 10 am mass. He cried, of course, but actually didn’t cry as much as I expected.
After the baptism we had lunch at an “agriturisimo” in our town. It was the typical Italian all afternoon affair. The food was excellent! Starters were fried zucchini flowers, cheeses with honey and jam, prosciutto, and grilled vegetables. The “primo” was fresh pasta with yellow tomatoes, “secondo” was grilled steak with rucola, tomatoes and Parmesan. Dessert was fresh fruit and lemon cream cake.
There were animals (horses, chickens, donkeys, and turtles) outside of the agriturisimo and a large area with slides, swings, and other toys for the kids so everyone was entertained even with the long lunch (4.5 hours).
